About the Teachers

Profile picture for Amy CrispAmy Crisp is the STEM faciliator in the BLC, with student experiences focused on Science, Math, and Technical Writing. She lives in Lewis Center with her husband and two kids, both of which go to Glen Oak Elementary. Before joining the Olentangy Team in 2008, she taught for eight years in Dublin, including time spent as a math and science curricular coach. She has always taught and loves fourth and fifth grade, as she feels that this is the time in a child’s education where he or she really starts to see the variety of opportunities provided by the learning process and the amazing strides one can make when ownership is developed and supported. She holds a masters degree, as well as has been certified in the Javit’s Gifted and Talented program.

Tammy Rodriguez is the humanities teacher in the BLC classroom where she facilitates reading, writing, and social studies instruction. In addition to her role as a teacher, she is also a wife and the mother of four grown daughters who have all gone through Olentangy schools. Her husband’s job transfers have given her the opportunity to teach in many schools across Colorado and Ohio over her last 22 years in the classroom.  She holds several teaching endorsements in Ohio including Early Childhood (PK-3), Early Childhood (Grades 4-5) Generalist, and Gifted Intervention Specialist (K-12). She also holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from Boise State University. Tammy has taught second, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh grades as well as served as a Gifted and Talented Coordinator in an elementary school.
